Modernizing municipal ICT with a secure, scalable, and managed network foundation
Avit has won the Network as a Service (NaaS) tender for the Municipality of Nijkerk, marking the start of a long-term partnership to modernize and manage the city’s ICT infrastructure.
The new service agreement runs for an initial four years, with options to extend up to ten, and officially began operations in July 2024.
Following the municipality’s relocation to a new, modern city hall, Avit implemented a fully managed, future-proof network to support Nijkerk’s digital transformation.
By adopting a NaaS model, the municipality gains flexibility, scalability, and access to continuous technological updates without large upfront investments.
The new smart city building integrates streaming, digital meetings, workspace reservations, and guest Wi-Fi — enhancing both citizen services and staff efficiency.
Built on Cisco technology, the network ensures security, continuity, and cost efficiency while enabling innovation and smart governance.
The collaboration positions Nijkerk as a forward-looking municipality with a digital infrastructure ready for the coming decade.
